How much will my case cost?

Every case is different. The amount of fees is dependent upon the issues in dispute between the parties. We believe that our clients are entitled to obtain a fee estimate as early as possible.

We usually provide a fee estimate at our first meeting and, upon being retained, we put that fee estimate in writing so the client is very clear as to what the fees may be.

How long will my case take?

Some cases are resolved very quickly, sometimes within days or weeks of a file being started. Other files require more involvement. The vast majority of our cases (90 – 95%) are resolved without trial.

Supreme Court trial dates are usually set about 9 to 11 months after a claim is filed. Think of a trial as an end date; if your case is not resolved by then, a Judge will resolve it. During an initial consultation, we will be able to give you a more precise idea of how long your case will take.

What happens if negotiations breakdown?

When appropriate, negotiations are pursued. However, if negotiations fail, we will tenaciously fight your case in Court and actively pursue your rights through litigation.

Do I have to pay for the first meeting?

No. We do not charge for initial meetings and first consultations are always free.

What is your hourly rate?

Yair Leibovitz's hourly rate is $350.

All lawyers are required to charge taxes and charge disbursements as well. Although the hourly rate is important information to have, what is more important is the fee estimate.

After all, at the end of the day, a client wants to have an estimate of what the total costs will be. Our fee estimates are provided to the client in writing.

Are there steps I can take to minimize my fees?

Yes. There are many steps a client can take to keep their fees as low as possible. We will provide you with the information necessary to keep your fees as low as possible. We also explain how fees are charged.

For our part, we ensure all appointments have agendas so as to maximize the benefit of appointments and minimize the amount of time needed.  We also advise our clients as to what they can do on their own (such as the preparation of a written relationship summary) to save time and money.
